Saved From A Ghastly Motor Accident
"I believe in the Word and I believe
everything that it says. If you believe you have to claim it. And it’ll come to
pass." - Ernest Utuk
Ernest Utuk and his mother |
After praying with my mother and
sister, something told me to go and pray again and commit myself to God’s care.
I just obeyed the voice, because I do hear that voice sometimes. When it speaks
to me, I do listen. I listen and it works for me.
I can’t actually define what the
voice is. It comes from the inside. But it is something I cannot resist. Sometimes
it comes like an imagination, sometimes it comes like a thought, sometimes it
comes like a feeling. I do have such feelings about some things.
I can say that that voice is the
voice of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes when good things are going to happen to me,
I do feel it. The spirit will just tell me, “Ernest, pray about this good thing
that is about to happen to you.” Sometime if I don’t pray about it, it delays,
but if I pray, it happens without delay.
So I went back to my room to pray
while my mom and other members of the family waited for me outside the house. I
prayed to God and said my life is in his care, as I am going out, may his
presence go with me. That was all. I didn’t even pray at the motor park. I had
the assurance that I’ve committed my life to God and my life is in his care.
On my way to Kaduna, we had a
mysterious car accident. Five people died instantly. Only three of us survived.
I am glad to say that I survived without any broken bones or any
life-threatening injury.
I was seated on the middle row of
the bus at the right side. We were three on that row. The woman seated next to
me survived with broken arms, while the girl seated next to her died. All the
people at the back seat died. The driver died and the women seated at the
passenger seat in the front smashed her knees.
The only thing I can remember about
the crash is that our car collided with another car. It smashed into the side
of the other car. Then I only remember waking up in hospital.
When I woke up in hospital I saw my
mother and family members at the bedside crying. They all thought I was dead.
They even believed I wouldn’t be able to walk again if I survived. So I told my
mother not to cry; then she started laughing; laughing for joy.
When I woke up in the hospital I
could not feel my legs from the waist to the toe. So I told myself “I will not
sit on a wheelchair!”
I believe in the Word and I believe
everything that it says. If you believe you have to claim it. And it’ll come to
pass.
I believe it is God’s hand. If God
is with you and he wants you to do something for Him, He directs your path; He
leads you. Sometimes we insist on doing things that the Spirit tells us not to
do and we end up not finding happiness in it.
My advice to travellers is: believe in
God, for he shall direct your path. Because the Word says, “But these are
written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and
that believing ye might have life through his name” (John 20:31KJV). The
Apostle Paul also said, “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in
my body the marks of the Lord Jesus” (Galatians 6:17KJV). Therefore, when you
bear that mark of Jesus Christ in you, you can go anywhere, enter anywhere with
the assurance that the Lord is with you; no harm shall befall you.
God would always remain faithful to those who walk rightly with Him.....
